Sump Pumps

Reliable Protection Against Basement and Crawlspace Flooding

When water builds up under your home, a sump pump is the first line of defense against flooding. These systems automatically remove water from basements and crawlspaces, keeping your foundation dry and protected. We install high-capacity, sealed sump pump systems with optional features including battery backup and high-water alarms. We design systems to withstand Indiana’s heavy seasonal storms and moisture-retaining soils, keeping your home dry and protected year-round.

With Drainage Control by Cut ‘N Dry Waterproofing, we ensure your pump is sized correctly for your home’s specific needs and integrates seamlessly with the right drainage solutions, like interior drain tile, French drains, or downspout routing, for reliable, whole-home protection.

Why Sump Pumps Matter

Basements and crawlspaces are the lowest points of your home, making them the first place where storm runoff and groundwater collect. When water lingers, pressure builds up at the wall–floor joint and under the slab, which can turn small leaks into big problems.

Without a reliable pump, you may see:

A properly sized and professionally installed sump pump system keeps water moving out before it can cause damage, especially when paired with an interior drain (to collect seepage) and good exterior drainage (to reduce the amount of water that reaches the house).

Tip: A sealed, radon-compatible basin, battery backup, and high-water alarm add year-round reliability for Indiana’s storms and freeze–thaw cycles.

Signs You May Need a Sump Pump Upgrade

A sump pump protects your home by collecting water in a basin and pumping it safely away. Like any appliance, it wears out over time. When it struggles or fails, basements and crawlspaces are left unprotected. Watch for:

Upgrading before your pump fails helps you avoid extra costs and damage. We will help you choose the right pump and can add a sealed lid that works with radon systems, a battery backup, a high-water alarm, and a discharge setup that works in winter. This way, your system will be ready for Indiana’s wettest weather.

Our Sump Pump Installation Process

Every home is unique, but we follow a proven process to ensure your sump pump system provides dependable protection for years to come.

Inspect & Plan

We determine how water gets into your home (roof runoff, grading, wall-floor joint, low spots) and choose the best basin location.

Interior Collection

If we find seepage or groundwater, we install interior collection for the sump pump to direct water away from your home.

Basements: We create a narrow trench where the wall meets the floor, using a quick-draining channel that’s easy to service.

Crawlspaces: We dig a perimeter trench with filter fabric and aggregate stone, and connect a perforated drain tile to the basin.

Set the Sealed Basin

We put in an airtight, radon-compatible basin at the low point and seal openings to keep your system quiet and clean.

Install the Primary Pump

We install a strong, properly sized submersible pump with a quiet check valve, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Add Backup & Alarm

Storms and outages happen. We can add a battery backup pump and high-water alarm so you’re protected when it matters most.

Winter-Ready Discharge (Freeze Relief)

We ensure the discharge line is sloped and routed properly, add a relief vent at the wall, and bury a line to a pop-up emitter. This way, your system continues to move water even in freezing weather.

System Test & Walkthrough

We perform a water test, simulate an outage, set the alarm, and review simple maintenance. Ask about our Protection Plan for painless annual checkups.

Complete Sump Pump Protection

Basic pumps handle everyday water, but Indiana weather often demands more. For complete peace of mind, we build a layered setup that keeps water out in storms, power outages, and deep winter.

Together, these components create a layered defense against flooding, keeping your basement or crawlspace safe, dry, and protected throughout the year.

Reliable Protection, Even in Tough Conditions

When moisture starts to affect a home’s crawlspace or basement, most homeowners look for more than a quick fix. They want protection they can count on.

One homeowner shared how they were impressed by the team’s professionalism and attention to detail. Despite bad weather, the crew stayed focused, polite, and worked hard to deliver lasting results. The finished space was much cleaner, drier, and easier to maintain.

“Everyone at Cut ‘N Dry Waterproofing, and I mean everyone from Meriann to all of the guys that worked on my mother in law’s home, I want to say thank you and a job well done!! Everyone was professional and courteous and even when the weather was very cold, they still came out and did a complete crawlspace encapsulation. The crawlspace is so much warmer and drier now…I am truly amazed!…”

This is the same confidence you get from a properly installed sump pump system. It protects your home when storms roll through and when groundwater levels rise.

It was a pleasuring working with this company to find the best solutions for our crawlspace problems. They replaced a water damaged beam, replaced bad duct work, installed a sump pump and took care to explain the process as they went along. The house is staying warmer now. Brendan was in charge of the project and was super communicative. Ty and Tristan worked with him. They were both very friendly and helpful. Brianna and Brittany in the office were both super helpful with scheduling and answering any questions I had. I will for sure use them again in the future if we have any issues with our crawlspace again. Hopefully there won't be since they did an amazing job :).

I had a lot of work done in my 18" crawlspace over the summer and I'm happy with the results. New insulation/encapsulation, sump pump, some duct repairs, jacking up the main beam of the house which had sunk over time, new crawlspace access doors. I went with the 90 mil vapor barrier material and it was well worth it. Friendly folks and they were always nice to work with. Shout out to Johnny for being so friendly and kind. Also Brianna, Meriann, Nick, and a few others whose names escape me.

They did crawlspace work on a crawlspace that was seriously neglected for decades by previous owners. Muck out, mold remediation, install french drains and sump pump and dehumidifier, encapsulation, put on new door and fix door area, lay exit line to storm drain by street. Very friendly and professional, answered all my questions along the way, and worked hard in 96' heat two days in a row. Very pleased with results and relieved to have a safer, cleaner, drier crawlspace. Definitely recommend

Note: Some reviews mention our former names, Crawlspace Remediation and Radon Control Services. Both are now part of the Cut ‘N Dry Waterproofing family of services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions about sump pumps we hear most from Indiana home owners:

Warning signs include unusual noises, frequent cycling, standing water that doesn’t drain, or a pump that’s more than 7–10 years old.

Yes. We customize installations for basements, crawlspaces, and different foundation types. Whether your home is older or newly built, we’ll design a system that suits your needs.

To daylight via a pop-up emitter when grade allows, or to a dry well. In some cases, we tie into a sump inside; we keep discharges separate from footing drains to avoid overloads.

Absolutely. Storms that cause flooding often knock out power. A battery backup ensures your sump pump continues running when you need it most.

Most installations can be completed in a single day, though homes requiring additional drainage work may take longer.

Sump pumps should be tested at least once a year (ideally before spring rains) to make sure they’re working properly. Battery backups also require periodic checks.

We use a sealed, radon-compatible lid and a quiet check valve. That makes the system cleaner, quieter, and better at containing humidity/odors.

On average, sump pumps last 7–10 years, depending on usage and maintenance. Replacing them proactively is the best way to avoid unexpected flooding.

Still have questions? We'll inspect, explain what's driving the water, and map out clear options, no pressure.
