Protecting Lafayette Homes From the Ground Up

Homes in Lafayette and across West Central Indiana face some real moisture challenges. Spring storms bring steady rainfall, summers are humid, and shifting groundwater levels near the Wabash River can put significant pressure on foundations and crawlspaces. Many homes in our area sit on silty clay and glacial soils that retain water long after a storm has passed.

Over time, that trapped moisture can lead to basement leaks, damp crawlspaces, mold growth, and even elevated radon levels.

At Cut ‘N Dry Waterproofing, we design solutions built specifically for Indiana homes – stopping moisture at its source and protecting your foundation for the long haul.

What Homeowners Are Saying

Every project comes with a homeowner who just wanted their home to feel right again. Here’s what they’ve shared about working with us.

My crawl space was a mess. I hired Crawlspace remediation for the works. They removed old insulation, treated mold, insulated block walls, installed a sump pump, trenched drains, and encapsulated the entire crawl space in thick plastic. Now, my crawl space is immaculate. It's much more appealing to go down there for routine maintenance, since I don't come out covered in mud. I can actually see all of my plumbing and electrical. It makes it much easier to spot plumbing leaks. More importantly, it is clean. Mold is gone, and it stays dry. I don't have to worry about my floors rotting out any longer, or what the mold is doing to the health of my family. They completed the job in a timely manner, exactly as we agreed on in the estimate. Their prices were reasonable. They stayed busy the entire time they were here, with very minimal disruption to the household. Additionally, I pointed out a small issue with billing, and they went above and beyond to make things right. I highly recommend Crawlspace Remediation. They do good work!

I am beyond impressed with the work Crawlspace Remediation has done for me. Mike was very informative with his initial estimate. I had mold, sagging floors and just an overall smelly crawlspace. When it was time for the work to be done, Meriann at the office was very prompt and helpful in getting the appointment set up! (Thank you Meriann!!) When the work started, Justin and Steven were fast, efficient and very professional. They kept me informed during the process and did a WONDERFUL job!!! I appreciate all of you and the work that you do!!

I would definitely recommend Crawlspace Remediation. They explained very thoroughly the problems/solution and provided photos, etc., of my crawlspace. They were timely in completing the work and again went through the process in detail and provided photos of their work. Great job!

Note: Some reviews mention our former names, Crawlspace Remediation and Radon Control Services. Both are now part of the Cut ’N Dry Waterproofing family of services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before we visit your home, here are answers to a few questions homeowners in the Lafayette area ask most often.

Common warning signs include musty smells, higher humidity, cold floors, visible mold, damp insulation, or standing water. If the air in your home doesn’t feel right, the problem often starts below your floors.

Yes. Up to half of the air on your first floor can come from your crawlspace or basement. If those areas are damp or moldy, the problems can spread into your living space, causing odors, increased humidity, or allergy-like symptoms.

Not always. If you can see mold, testing might not be needed. During your inspection, we’ll explain what you’re seeing, what’s causing it, and whether testing would help.

Many homes here are built on silty clay and glacial soils, which hold onto water long after it rains. Spring storms, humid summers, and changing groundwater levels in Tippecanoe County can cause moisture to accumulate around foundations and crawlspaces. When moisture stays trapped, it can lead to leaks, musty smells, mold, and even structural problems. The good news is that with proper waterproofing and drainage, you can fix these issues for good.

Most homeowners notice better air quality, lower humidity, or more comfort within a few days, especially after encapsulation, waterproofing, or mold cleanup.
